918 Elevate Grand Lake Hosting Physician Recommendation Clinic Saturday
If you’re suffering from a chronic medical condition and have not found relief from pain and other symptoms using traditional medicines, medical cannabis might be a viable treatment option for you.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, 918 Elevate Grand Lake is hosting a Physician Recommendation Clinic where you can meet with a doctor to see if you are an appropriate candidate for medial cannabis treatment.
Medical cannabis (commonly referred to as medical marijuana) has been shown to alleviate symptoms of a variety of serious medical conditions, as well as relieve pain, reduce inflammation, lessen nausea/improve appetite, control epileptic seizures and more.
In June 2018, Oklahoma voters approved and passed State Question 788, legalizing the use of medical cannabis in Oklahoma and making cannabis a medical solution for qualified patients with state-issued medical marijuana cards.
The identification card is proof that an individual with an approved application is a medical marijuana patient license holder, allowing him or her to legally buy, use and grow medical cannabis and products in Oklahoma.
To obtain medical cannabis, you don’t need a prescription. However, you do need a physician’s recommendation. 918 Elevate Grand Lake’s Physician Recommendation Clinic this Saturday is the perfect opportunity to get that recommendation.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dr. John Edward Fell, of Tahlequah, will be meeting with potential medical cannabis patients. After evaluated them, if his medical opinion is that the patient would benefit from the administration of medical cannabis, he will give his recommendation for a medical marijuana patient license.
The 918 Elevate Grand Lake staff will then help patients submit their patient license application form, documentation and the physician recommendation form to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA).
The Physician Recommendation Clinic will be held across the street from 918 Elevate Grand Lake at Martin Accounting, LLC, 121 E. Main, in Disney.
According to 918 Elevate Grand Lake Manager Shelly Martin, there will be two separate fees charged: $75 to see the doctor plus the OMMA application fee, which is $100 plus an additional credit card processing fee. Martin says the dispensary is waiving its filing assistance fee during this Saturday’s clinic.
To be eligible for Oklahoma’s medical marijuana patient license, a patient must be 18 years old, with valid proof of Oklahoma residency, valid proof of identity, a clear, color, full-face digital photo and the physician recommendation form, as well as an active email address.
Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis or by appointment. For more information or to set up an appointment, call the dispensary at (918) 801-8407.
