City of Miami Recreation Department presents “Outdoor Summer Movie Series"

The City of Miami’s Department of Tourism and Recreation will host the first annual Summer Movie Night Series at Civic Center, located at 129 5th Ave.  The movie was originally scheduled to take place at Riverview Park but is being moved due to the weather forecast.  Doors at the Civic Center will open at 6:30 p.m.  The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m.      

The Movie “Trolls” will be shown and concessions from J&S Concessions and The Frozen Elephant will be onsite offering delicious meals and treats.  This is a family event and open to the community.  Parent supervision is required.  Admission to the showing will be $5.00 per family and payment can be made by checks, cash or credit cards on site. 

The Movie night series will continue June 10th at the Miami Municipal Pool featuring “The Sandlot”. Show will start at 7:30 p.m. and run until 10:00 p.m. The pool will stay open till midnight for extended swimming time.

The Summer Movie Night Series on August 4th at the City Municipal Pool will feature Disney’s “Moana”. The pool will stay open until midnight for extended swimming time.  Concessions will be available for sale during the pool events.  Admission to movie night at the pool is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.  Admission will be free for children under 6 years of age.  Pack up the kids, grab your baskets this summer for an exciting season of movies under the stars.

“We are looking forward to the Outdoor Summer Movie Series and hope to bring more family events such as these to the City of Miami” stated by Charly Petrek, Recreation Coordinator for the City of Miami. “These movie night series will continue for fall 2017. Our goal is to add themed nights to future events for the kids” Petrek added.
