Ribbon Cutting - Craft Boutique of Grand Lake

A Ribbon Cutting was held by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Friday, June 9, 2023, for Craft Boutique of Grand Lake, located at 3 W. 3rd in downtown Grove.

Owner Debbie Scheidt-Chapman and good friend (and fellow craft enthusiast) Anita Hayes-Jackson wanted to have a large space where they and others could do craft classes as well as shop for supplies. It just so happened that Grove was also desperately in need of a craft supply store and, in March of this year, Debbie, her husband John, Anita and some very helpful friends and locals began the process of creating Craft Boutique of Grand Lake. Chapman says that she has “felt the love” from the people of Grove before the store had opened and feels that a combination of “comradery and a sense of community” is what led to the boutique being opened in only 4 months.

Craft Boutique of Grand Lake has got it all: yarn, cross stitch, embroidery, DMC Floss, beads and jewelry making supplies, acrylics, watercolors, oils, pencils, pastels, brushes, canvas, paper, sketch books, card stock, embellishments, stamp sets, ink, kids crafts and, soon, framing and matting services. There will also be a schedule full of workshops and classes on everything from Beginner’s Sewing and Mosaics to Watercolor Pencils to Resin Jewelry.

Ambassadors attending the Ribbon Cutting were Sharie Cox – Grove’s Royal Liquor, Judi Johnson – McGraw Realtors and Rod Hurt – Grove Sun. Also attending the Ribbon Cutting were Nancy Morgan, Donna Foster, Debbie Scheidt-Chapman and husband John Chapman, Anita Hayes-Jackson, Krystal Wick, Karen Gross, Pat Armbrister and Chamber Executive Vice-President Connie King.
