SGL Chamber’s Golf Tournament a Huge Success
Bolt Fiber Optics Network Recognized as the Events Major Sponsor
On Monday, October 3rd, Shangri-La Resort hosted the South Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s Grand Lake Open Golf Tournament which attracted sixty players. Thanks to the participating teams, which represented a variety of lake area businesses, the Bolt Fiber Network and thirty other sponsors plus some chamber of commerce weather, the event was the most successful in recent memory.
Bolt’s Sheila Allgood said, “As Manager of BOLT, I lead a great team in delivering Fiber To The Home technology. Our services include gigabit internet, IPTV and VoIP to residents and businesses in rural NE Oklahoma.”
She added, “I am also responsible for RECtec and the excellent team that is engaged in offering rural schools, libraries and hospitals network solutions and ultra-high speed internet. We also assist rural first responders with communications and emergency lighting solutions. I am a strong advocate for promoting a better quality of life for rural America. We are committed to all things community and were happy to participate as the events major sponsor.”
There was a fierce completion for the prize money awarded to the first and second place teams in the two post-tournament determined flights. In the A Flight, the Vinita Chamber of Commerce team comprised of Darrell & Marilyn Wilson and Craig & Scott Downey claimed the first place cash. Finishing second was the Diana Riley-Patterson team made up of Diana Riley-Patterson & Pat Paterson along with Pat Churchwell & Bill Dunbar. The B Flight first place team was John Sharp’s and he was joined by Rick Smith, Gary Burke and Jonathan Krummel. The second place team was the Jay Grand Savings Bank comprised of Steve Odle, Dustin Able, Chris White and Andy Stewart.
The event raised nearly $6,000.00 for the chamber and the organization wishes to express their appreciation to all who supported the event with a team or as a sponsor. SGL Chamber Executive Director Rusty Fleming said, “What a beautiful day we had for playing one of the great golf venues in all of Oklahoma and we really appreciate the efforts of Rob Yanovitch and the entire Shangri-La staff. We can’t thank our participants and sponsors enough and are already thinking about plans for next year’s event.”
