Seventh Annual Grand Lake Poker Run Set for Saturday

Event to Benefit the Ketchum Backpack Program

Here’s the deal … it’s time to put on your poker face for a good cause.

The seventh annual Grand Lake Poker Run, benefitting the Ketchum Backpack Program, is set for this Saturday, July 29.

The fun gets under way at 11 a.m., and winners will be announced at 8:30 p.m. at Sharky’s Bar, which is located next door to Hammerhead Marina.

It’s simple to play and you’ll win at every stop.

Whether traveling by land or by Grand, players will visit four stops to pick up a poker chip: Hookers at Cherokee Yacht Club, Arrowhead Yacht Club and the ship stores at Cedar Port Marina and Hammerhead Marina.

In addition to picking up their chips, players can enjoy specials at each location:

  • Hookers at Cherokee Yacht Club will have $5 Stoli Doli.
  • Arrowhead Yacht Club will be hosting a $10 picnic lunch buffet between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The picnic lunch buffet will include hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and more.
  • The ship store at Cedar Port Marina will be offering all Sun Bum merchandise for 25 percent off.
  • The Hammerhead Marina ship store will have select items for 50 percent off. Players can also enter a drawing for a $159.99 Engle backpack cooler.

Cards will be dealt at Sharky’s Bar from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Winners will receive a gift certificate for the Cedar Point Marina ship store, which is donating the prizes: $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $100 for third place.

The poker run is open to the public. There is a $10 entry fee, which will be paid at Cedar Port when players pick up their chips. Additional hands are available for $10 each. You may play as many hands as you are willing to pay for.

A full house is expected for Saturday’s Grand Lake Poker Run, which is a fundraiser for the Ketchum Backpack Program. Last year’s poker run raised $2,700 for the program, which helps send snacks home for children in Ketchum Public Schools.

Sharky’s Bar will be hosting a poker run afterparty with Tulsa party band, The Rumor, performing.

Come out and join the fun of the seventh annual Grand Lake Poker Run. Someone’s going to win. Why shouldn’t it be you?
