The Grove Rotary Club continues its fundraising drive #StrongerTogetherGrove which will provide grants to local community groups.

The Bank of Grand Lake was named a Super Hero by donating $3,000 to the fundraising effort. In addition, the bank also placed a billboard supporting the Frontline Heroes program as well as using their electronic sign to support the program.

The check was presented by Matt Carnes, Market President, and Ben Hampton, President North Grand Lake and Chief Lending Officer, to the chairman of Rotary’s Lobsterfest program Richard Van Dyck.

Each year the Grove Rotary Club holds a Lobsterfest fundraiser. The money is used to support everything from local nonprofits to schools, to youth services. However, this year COVID -19 forced the club to cancel its annual event. Instead, the Grove Rotary Club is raising funds through a #StrongerTogetherGrove program which honors Frontline Heroes who are working every day to keep the community safe. In addition, many organizations including the local newspapers, websites and radio stations have been important partners in this effort.

Last year the Grove Rotary Foundation donated nearly $170,000 to various causes including $23,000 to area students for post-high school education, more than $40,000 to local school district projects.

The goal of the #StrongerTogetherGrove program is to raise the funds needed to support local projects. All of the money raised is used to support those efforts as the Rotary Club is a volunteer service club.

The club is asking area residents to consider donating to this cause online via the #StrongerTogetherGrove site at https://donate.onecause.com/strongertogethergrove. Checks can be mailed to the Rotary Foundation: GRF, PO Box 452286, Grove, OK 74345-2286. Or you can call 918-707-0821 to make a credit or debit card pledge.
