Youth Sports Grants

Four recent Grove Rotary grants will provide sport opportunities for youth. The four grants total $6,600.

 

The Jay Takedown Club, supporting wrestling, was awarded a $2,000 grant for sports equipment and singlets as well as air purifying equipment. Whitney Walker accepted the donation from Grove Rotary's Charitable Giving Committee chair, Kristi Wallace.

 

The Grove Soccer Club received a matching challenge grant of $1,100 for the purchase of two new goals for the Under 12 field. Candace Bronaugh represented the club and Kristi Wallace, the chair of the Rotary Charitable Giving Committee presented the grant.

 

Kickin' Asphalt, a youth running program, was presented $1,500 by Kristi Wallace, the chair of Grove Rotary's Charitable Giving Committee. Connie Beal and Marty Syring accepted the check for the program which targets high-risk youth from 12 to 18 years of age.

 

The Grand Lake Family YMCA received $2,000 to help fund its summer day camp youth program. Director Butch Christy accepted the check from Kristi Wallace, the chair of the Rotary Charitable Giving Committee.
