THE REASON FOR JOSEPH'S SUCCESS by Jewels From The Word

Joseph, the spoiled baby of the family, shot off his big mouth and told his older brothers and parents about his dream. In those days, dreams were considered an important way for God to show people what His will was, but when Joseph told his dream, his brothers thought Joseph felt
superior to others in his family.
When the opportunity presented itself, Joseph's brothers cruelly considered killing him, but relented when the oldest brother Reuben interceded, so they sold him instead to a caravan of Ishmaelites traveling through at that very moment.
Joseph's troubles didn't stop when he got to Egypt. He was sold as a slave into the house of Potiphar, where he rose to the top job of running the household. Then Mrs. Potiphar accused him of attacking her, so he was thrown in jail. While there, Joseph rose to the top again, in charge  of running the entire jail. There were two inmates there, the chief baker and the chief butler, who had dreams that Joseph interpreted. He told the baker he would be hanged and the butler he would be returned to duty, and it happened just as Joseph said it would. Joseph told the butler to remember him to the Pharaoh.
Two years later, after the chief butler told the Pharaoh about how Joseph interpreted his dreams, Pharaoh called for Joseph, told him about the dream he had, and said "I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it." So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace." Genesis 41:15-16 NKJV.
As a result, Pharaoh made Joseph second in command and God used him to bring the country, including Joseph and his whole family, through a seven-year famine. Joseph recognized the source of his inspiration, instead of taking the credit for it himself.
As we go about our lives, sometimes circumstances will take us to a place where we don't want to be, but God is aware of where you are. In spite of circumstances that might come your way, God has not forsaken you.
He can use you to bring your family through the famines of your life too.
