Local girl donates proceeds from lemonade sales to PAAS

While many kids save up their money to buy a new video game or toy for themselves, 9-year-old Bayley Neal wanted to do something to benefit something she loves - animals.
Bayley is a local resident who attends Adair school. She decided this summer while visiting her grandmother in Pryor that she wanted to sell lemonade and donate the proceeds to the Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter in Vinita.
She braved the heat last Friday and in a two-hour period sold enough lemonade to passersby to raise $80, which she gladly donated to the shelter Wednesday morning.
Her mother, Alyssa Neal, said that Bayley’s love for animals was apparent when last year she told her mom that instead of birthday gifts, she wanted dog and cat treats that she could donate to animal shelters, which she did.
The shy 9-year-old really wasn’t looking to be in the spotlight for her kind acts, but she did admit that although she loves both dogs and cats, she is definitely a dog person.
PAAS Director Kay Stout was impressed with Bayley’s efforts and the fact that she raised $80 selling lemonade, and thanked her for her generosity.
