The "DaVita Way of Giving" Corporate Donation to Second Chance Pet Rescue
Pictured is Lynne Meek of DaVita Dialysis, Grove, presenting $1,000 corporate donation check to Kim Nelson, Shelter Manager of Second Chance Pet Rescue.
Once a year, DaVita, Inc. puts its charitable giving decisions in the hands of its clinical teammates across the country to make an impact throughout communities nationwide. For its "DaVita Way of Giving" campaign, each clinical location team is given the opportunity to choose a local nonprofit to receive corporate contributions which will assist that nonprofit with its mission. According to DaVita, Inc. nearly $9.1 million in charitable donations have been directed through its "Way of Giving" programs since 2011.
DaVita teammates choose charities that are locally based and which have a positive impact in their communities. For the 2016 "Way of Giving" recipient, the Grove, Oklahoma, clinical dialysis team chose Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake to receive a $1,000 charitable
donation. Additionally both Ms. Meek and Michael Whaley, DaVita Dialysis Manager, have extended an offer for its Grove clinical teammates to coordinate a hands-on service day with Second Chance Pet Rescue. The hands-on service day will allow teammates to donate their time to help the shelter however it is most needed. DaVita's service day will also build a stronger service partnership with Second Chance Pet Rescue and with the Grove, Oklahoma, community.
Second Chance Pet Rescue is sincerely appreciative of DaVita's "Way of Giving" donation, and looking forward to working with its Grove clinical employees in the near future. Second Chance Pet Rescue is a life-saving, nonprofit animal shelter which relies entirely on private financial donations to continue its mission to provide a safe, nurturing environment for all homeless dogs and cats that arrive at its doors.
