BIG and Unforgettable Week Ahead at Shangri-La
With the Memorial Day holiday behind us, it’s hard to believe the upcoming week is even busier than the last week! We will begin opening some of our hotel facilities this week – not all at once, but we will have much of the facility open this weekend. Doc’s Bar & Grill requires a little more detailed set-up for our food & beverage operations – so Doc’s will not be open until next week – we’re planning 7:00 a.m. Monday. With the hotel opening, we will host five of Oklahoma’s six living governors as they are honored Saturday night at the Home of Hope Admirals Banquet & Fundraising Auction. We will host both a wedding and a rehearsal dinner this week, along with several groups joining us for receptions, dinners, and business meetings. We are also honored to have Shangri-La’s Vice President of Operations Jon Davidson and his team address the Grove Rotary Club Wednesday to inform the community of all that is new at Shangri-La.
Our regular Horse Race is Friday’s at 5:00. If you would like to enter, the fee is $10. Sign up in the Golf Shop. Saturday, the Shangri-La Women’s Golf Association hosts a 4-person scramble open to all Shangri-La women club members. Monday, of course, is the regular play day for the SLWGA. This week’s format is “low gross/low net” and the event is also a Grand Lady qualifier. The Cowan Golf Group also joins us for their annual tournament Sunday & Monday; and the 2017 Junior Players Academy begins Monday and continues through next Thursday. Contact the Golf Shop for information about the Academy.
If you haven’t tried the fare at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar at the marina, we hope you’ll give it a shot this weekend. We had an unbelievably busy holiday weekend at Eddy’s. If you didn’t make it last weekend, hopefully you’ll join us this weekend.
Remember, we are now open for golf seven-days-a-week. The Summit Restaurant and Buffalo Bar are also open to members and resort guests seven days a week for lunch – and Thursday-Sundayfor dinner. Eddy’s Lakeside Bar is open from 11:00 a.m. Friday, Saturday & Sunday, and Doc’s Bar & Grill is open from 7:00 a.m.-midnight daily.
