Christmas Comes Early at Shangri-La this Weekend
It’s Christmas weekend at Shangri-La. Our popular Christmas Brunch with Santa is Sunday from 10:00-3:00 ($29 - $10 for children under 10 – no charge for children under 2). In addition to the Chef Kevin’s fabulous holiday brunch buffet, Santa will also be on hand from 11:00-1:00, along with a professional photographer to preserve your Christmas memories.
If you haven’t already done so, be sure to make reservations now to join us once again for a very special New Year’s Eve Wine Dinner ($125) beginning with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31.
College football bowl get underway Saturday. We’ll have full coverage in the Buffalo Bar, of course, highlighted with Monday afternoon’s Miami Beach Bowl with the University of Tulsa facing Central Michigan at 1:30.
There’s a good NFL schedule this week, too, as the playoff picture becomes more clear. Thursdaynight action features the Rams and Seahawks (in the same week the Rams fired their coach). Saturday night, the Dolphins face the Jets; and Sunday’s featured NFL games include Tennessee at Kansas City, Detroit at the N.Y. Giants, and New England at Denver.
If that’s not enough, there’s some good college basketball action this week, as well, including Arkansas at Texas, Kansas State at Colorado State, North Carolina at Kentucky, and Davidson at Kansas, all on Saturday – and a Sunday afternoon game featuring Gonzaga at Tennessee.
Keep an eye on the weather. The weekend looks like the perfect weather to spend some time by the fireplace in the Buffalo Bar watching your favorite teams. Saturday’s high will be in the 50-degree range, but you’ll probably want to get your golf games in on Friday & Saturday – Sunday’s high temperature will barely reach freezing.
