It’s Boat Show Time!
We came back from the holidays to face a busy schedule preparing for boat show season – and the excitement of formally presenting all that is new for 2017 is already underway. The Nichols Marine at Shangri-La sales team is at the Oklahoma City RV and Boat Show this weekend, January 19-22, at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. The following week, we’ll move our operation – and expand it significantly – to prepare for the Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show January 30-February 5 at the River Spirit Expo located at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds.
An Expanded Selection of Models From Which to Choose
The winter boat shows are the very best time of year to make terrific buys on new models. Manufacturers always offer special discounted pricing for the big winter boat shows; and financing institutions often have special value offerings, too.
There are plenty of fantastic new models from which to choose this year – and nobody has a bigger selection or a bigger variety than the Nichols Marine at Shangri-La team. The new Chaparral 287 will make its debut at the Tulsa Show as well as the new Sunesta Extreme line with unique forward facing drives and the Malibu Surf Gate feature to allow the ultimate in surfing in the comfort of a runabout. We’ll have the full line-up from Chaparral including the Vortex direct jet thrust series providing pinpoint control in a jet drive boat, even at low speeds.
We will also display the full line of Bennington tritoon boats including the new 30-foot model with a 10 foot beam, as well as incredible bargains on Chris-Craft models from the 26-foot Catalina outboard to the trend-setting Launch 36. While they last, we have a few exceptional values on non-current model year new boats with rebates we have applied to deeply discounted pricing. The Miami Show, which has been spread over several locations in years past, has relocated to a new site – the Miami Marine Stadium & Basin on Virginia Key, just minutes from downtown Miami across the Rickenbacker Causeway. More Great News at Shangri-La Marina
It’s not just the boat sales operation that has been busy at Shangri-La Marina. The marina parking lot has been so full of automobiles belonging to construction workers every day that it looks like a Saturday in June!
The summer of 2017 is going to be a very special year at Shangri-La Marina. The new Shangri-La Resort Hotel is scheduled to open late in the spring. Workers are installing HVAC systems and electrical wiring. Much of the interior sheet rock work is complete and crews are applying stucco to the hotel exterior. Concrete crews have been busy crafting what will undoubtedly be one of the most incredible resort pools in this part of the United States. It is a very exciting time.
Remember, the pool and other hotel facilities will be available to Shangri-La Club Members – and, if you are not already a member, initiation fees are waived for Shangri-La Marina slip renters. If you don’t already have a slip in our marina, we have a few slips available – 24-feet, 32-feet, 40-feet and one 50-foot slip. If you need a boat to go with your new slip, we can help you with that problem, as well – and, of course, we are one of the region’s leading dealers for HydroHoist boat lifts.
In addition to the hotel facilities including the casual dining restaurant and both indoor and outdoor bar areas, we are also busily rebuilding facilities dockside at the former Island Joe’s location. An all-new bar & kitchen area is being built to both expand and improve the facility. Construction crews are sprucing up existing facilities and building new ones quickly. The new bar facilities will afford both indoor and outdoor recreation areas. It is an exciting time, indeed, at Shangri-La Marina.
Ship Store Shopping
Lyn keeps the Shangri-La Marina Ship Store open throughout the winter for your shopping convenience. Beautiful logoed hoodies and sweats for both men and women are popular sales items. If you are planning a winter excursion to warmer weather, she also has a selection of swimsuits, bikinis and tankinis in stock – and at reduced prices.
The Ship Store is also a great place to find caps, t-shirts, cups, glasses and a wide array of souvenir items.
