Upcoming Events at Shangri-La June 28-July 4, 2018
We kick off the weeklong Independence Day celebration at Shangri-La Saturdaynight with our first members “Golf Cart Drive-In Movie Night” of the summer. The event will be held outdoors on the practice tees south of the Club House - drive-in movie style - with hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones - and beverages for kids of ALL ages. We will feature one of the very favorite family movies -Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle! We'll start the movie as soon as it gets dark (about 9:00), but come early and save your spot for a great evening of family fun!
PLEASE NOTE: we will have extended holiday hours of operation at many Shangri-La venues next week. In addition to regular hours of operation, Eddy’s Lakeside Bar will be open from 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 – and will be open from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4 through Sunday, July 8. The Summit Restaurant will offer both lunch and dinner service from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 through Sunday, July 8 (opening for Sunday Brunch at 10:00 Sunday). The Spa at Shangri-La, in addition to normal hours, will be open from 10:00-3:00Monday and Tuesday, July 2-3.
This week, we are proud to be hosting Oklahoma Home Centers, Dentsply Sirona, Star Lumber, the Career Women Golf Association, and the Shangri-La Place Homeowners Association at the resort. Tuesday, Gubernatorial candidate Mick Cornett will join us at Shangri-La, attending a fundraiser hosted by Shangri-La owner Eddy Gibbs. You are welcome to attend (5:30-7:30 Tuesday, July 3 in the Holderman Ballroom at the Resort Hotel).
On the golf course, we host our weekly “Yellow Rabbit Run” horse race Friday at5:00. Monday, he SLWGA Ladies will be on the course for their regular Play Day with 18-holers playing LG/LN/Blind Holes and the 9-holers playing LN/Blind Holes. Monday evening, the Home of Hope Special Olympics Golf Team will be on the course.
At Eddy’s Lakeside Bar, “Whiskey Poet Society” will be on stage Saturday night providing musical entertainment from 8:00-11:00 p.m.
Doc’s Bar & Grill now offers a weekend Breakfast Buffet from 7:00 a.m.-Noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Choose from a Continental Breakfast or a Full Buffet. The newly approved change in our liquor law allows you to enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sundays. We will be serving Sundayat both Doc’s and the Summit beginning at 10:00 – and at Eddy’s upon opening at 11:00.
Chef Michael and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). This week’s menu includes traditional Eggs Benedict, a Bacon & Egg Smoked Cheddar Croissant, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pancakes, and Smothered Pork Chop.
Doc’s Bar & Grill is open daily for three meals, and now offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
