It’s Club Championship Weekend! Tournament play is Saturday and Sunday as members try to unseat reigning champions Kenny Cole, Tim Carson and Carol Cable. Our regular “Yellow Rabbit Run” horse race is Friday at 5:00 – and on Monday, the SLWGA will host the “Golf for the Cure” tournament benefiting a special Integris Grove Hospital account that provides financial assistance for women in need of treatment.

Monday is also the day Oklahoma’s new liquor and beer laws take effect. If you enjoy a bloody mary or a mimosa with your breakfast, we will have full beverage service at Doc’s beginning at 8:00 a.m. instead of 10:00 a.m. beginning Monday, October 1.

It’s time for the Tulsa State Fair. The Shangri-La Team will be spreading the “Grand” word beginning Thursday and continuing throughout the ten-day run. Stop by and see us if you’re going to the fair. Our booth will be in the River Spirit Expo Building.

We are hosting a great group of guests at the resort this week including the Heartland Frame Builders Association, SemGroup Corporation, Cintas, Conner & Winters, Re/Max, Zenith Insurance, T D Williamson-Global Operations Conference, the Oklahoma Sheriffs Association, and the Lindley Golf Group.

Chef Mike and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). This week’s menu offerings include Succotash Benedicts, BLTE Sandwich, Eye Opener Special and a 12-inch Breakfast Pizza. If you prefer, there’s also always a great breakfast menu at Doc’s.

Eddy’s is closed for the season; but the Ship Store and fuel dock at the marina remain open daily; and you can still boat to dining and drinking opportunities and outdoor dining options at Doc’s Bar & Grill which remains open 365 days a year, serving three meals a day at Shangri-La’s Resort Hotel.

Doc’s Bar & Grill is Grand Lake’s favorite spot for watching sporting events. We’ll have all your favorite sports action, including the Ryder Cup competition, OU, OSU and Tulsa games, and NASCAR racing. Doc’s is open daily for three meals, and also offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
