Weekly upcoming events at Shanri-La

You can tell Spring is here, because things are hopping at Shangri-La. On the golf course this week, we welcome the Marquart Golf Group from St. Louis back to Shangri-La for the 29^th consecutive year – and the HGA Golf Group which will begin arriving Tuesday for their 27^th consecutive year! Saturday, the Wichita Concrete Pipe group is also scheduled for a golf weekend, and the Men’s Golf Association has their first tournament of the year – the MGA Blind Draw Best Ball Tournament with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start Saturday morning. The Women’s Golf Association also has their regular weekly play day on Monday with 18-holers playing a low gross/guess your score/poker format and 9-holers playing low net/poker. PGA professionals from several states around the country will begin practicing Sunday for a PGA Shootout Monday & Tuesday with competitors from three different PGA sections.

We are also proud to host Gallagher Benefit Services, J.B. Robison Auctioneers, Explorer Pipeline, and another great wedding party at the resort Saturday night – the Thompson/Tesreau Wedding!

The Shangri-La team is also reaching out into the community and the region this week. Director of Communications and Government Relations Mike Williams will serve as emcee for the South Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Bootleggers Ball Saturday night; and the Sales & Catering Teams will be headed for Branson Sunday for the three-day annual Missouri/Arkansas/Kansas/Oklahoma (MAKO) joint Chamber of Commerce Conference – spreading the news about Shangri-La and Grand Lake!

Chef Michael and his team have put together another incredible menu for SundayBrunch at the Summit (10:00-2:00) featuring Southwestern Eggs Benedict with Texas Toast and Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes ($14), a Vegetarian Bagel with Spinach, Sliced Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber, Alfalfa Sprouts, Avocado and Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes ($13), Porter Peaches and Cream French Toast with Fried Porter Peaches, Whipped Cream, Brioche, Mint and a side of Applewood Smoked Bacon ($12), and a Farmer’s Breakfast – Chicken Fried Steak, Bacon Gravy, Two Eggs, Bacon, Seasoned Breakfast Potatoes and Choice of Toast ($16).
