GOLF QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

This really is just an interesting fact: 90% off all golfers in the world, DON’T break 90.

PATRICIA ISLAND COUNTRY CLUB – Grove

Andy Stewart, (general manager) gave me the tour last week. Lots and lots of changes and improvements. This will definitely be an upscale venue for Grove. Memberships are extremely reasonable.

Still plenty of time to join the Tuesday Night golf league in 2017.  This League is a great way to ensure that you get out and enjoy the game on a regular basis.  The Patricia Island Tuesday night league is open to all players.   Please join in on the fun of this golf league where you can make new friends, play with old friends and participate in weekly events for prizes that will improve your game and allow you to enjoy the outdoor beauty of Patricia Island golf course!  There is plenty of golf to be played as the TNL will continue play until late fall.

Hope you are convinced you of the benefits of joining a golf league. It’s a great way to both further your enjoyment of the game and improve your skills.

For information concerning the Patricia Island Tuesday Night League please call Mike Kelly at Kelly Golf 918-787-7640 or Patricia Island Golf Club at 918-787-3338 Ext #3.   Sign up at the Patricia Island Pro Shop.  Time to get your golf on!!!

GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

At set up or address, two things are important to do consistently: (1) there should be an imaginary straight line from your lead shoulder, down your arm through the shaft ending at club head. And (2) your hands (and grip) should be dangling straight down from your shoulders. A good test is to simply let your hand fall off of the club. Your hand SHOULD only go sideways.

GOLF JOKE of THE WEEK

From my Oklahoma City Buddy, Greg Gilpin

Ray and Bob, two Government maintenance guys, were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.             "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole", said Bob, "But we don't have a ladder." The woman said, "Hand me that wrench out of your toolbox." She loosened a few bolts, then laid the pole down. She then took a tape measure from their toolbox, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches" and walked away.  Ray shook his head and laughed. "Well, ain't that just like a 'Miss-know-it-all' woman?" he said. "We need the height and she gives us the length!"   Ray and Bob are still working for the Government.
