Steve Pace Weekly Golf Report

GOLF FACT OF THE WEEK

The origin of the word “golf” is thought to have come from the Dutch word “kolf” or “kolve”, meaning “club” and the passed into Scottish language and became to “golve,” “gowl” or “gouf” because of the eccentricities of Scottish dialect. Many people wrongly believe that it’s because it forms the acronym; “Gentleman Only, Ladies Forbidden”, but that is merely an internet myth.

GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

If there is “trouble” along the left side of the fairway that you want to avoid, it is best for you to tee up on that same side. It is suggested to always tee up to the side that has the trouble.

GOLF JOKE OF THE WEEK

One of the advantages bowling has over golf is that you seldom lose a bowling ball -- Don Carter

There are two things you can do with your head down -- play golf and pray - Lee Trevino

A little girl was at her first golf lesson when she asked an interesting question:  "is the word spelled p-u-t or p-u-t-t ?" she asked the instructor.  "p-u-t-t is correct," he replied.  "put means to place a thing where you want it.  Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."

He said he wanted to get more distance.  I told him to hit it and run backwards -- Ken Ventura

The only thing in my bag that works is the bug spray -- Bruce Lansky

KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE !
