Grand Lake’s largest on-the-water concert and raft up is moving to a
new location for 2023, Willow Park Marina, in the back of Ketchum Cove.
Two pre-parties on Friday, July 14, will amp up the fun
and kick off the popular event.
GRAND LAKE O’ THE CHEROKEES, Okla., Thursday, June 29, 2023 — Thousands of fun-loving, live music fans from all around the country will fill up the back of Ketchum Cove as the 13th annual AquaPalooza Grand Lake makes summer on the lake official with a legendary party Saturday, July 15.
Presented by 360GrandLake.com and Anheuser-Busch, AquaPalooza Grand Lake is not your average music concert. Held every year on the third Saturday in July, it is Grand Lake of the Cherokees’ largest on-the-water concert and raft up, as well as one of it’s longest running events, attracting boaters and water lovers of all ages.
“AquaPalooza is a good time. It’s about having fun and enjoying Grand Lake,” said Michelle Robertson, owner and president of 360GrandLake.com. “The event has continued to grow each year. People come from all over the country to be a part of this national event that has become a popular Grand Lake tradition.”
Free and open to the public, this year AquaPalooza Grand Lake is moving to a new location in the back of Ketchum Cove with Willow Park Marina hosting the event.
With Tulsa’s premier party/dance band, House Party, rocking the stage from 1 to 5 p.m., this year’s floating four-hour concert promises to be an epic afternoon of sun, suds and song with “eerbody on Grand Lake gettin’ tipsy” at AquaPalooza 2023.
Get the Party Started
AquaPalooza Grand Lake is a destination musical event and party that has grown so big organizers expanded it into a two-day event. Kicking off the fun are two pre-parties on Friday, July 14.
Held from 6 to 9 p.m., at The Lighthouse restaurant in Ketchum, the AquaPalooza Anheuser-Busch VIP Party will be the hottest party in town with live music, delicious finger foods and swag bags filled with an array of goodies to amp up the fun. As headline sponsor, Anheuser-Busch will be on site serving beverages and showcasing new products.
Tickets to the AquaPalooza Anheuser-Busch VIP Party are still available at GrandLakeConcert.com.
There are two levels of tickets with a limited number of each: exclusive gold package VIP tickets are $110 each with only 100 available while silver package VIP tickets are $60 and limited to 100.
The Lighthouse Restaurant is located at 104 E. Ketchum Ave., in Ketchum. The restaurant will also be open to the public for dining on Friday, July 14, with purchased tickets only for the VIP area.
Pre-Party Fun Continues
After the VIP party, the fun will continue at Sharky’s Bar at Hammerhead Marina for the second of the two AquaPalooza Grand Lake pre-parties.
Everyone 21 and over is invited to join in on the fun at the AquaPalooza Grand Lake pre-party bash from 9 p.m. to midnight. This event is open to the public.
Gold package VIP ticket holders will receive wristband VIP entry to Sharky’s Bar with access to a VIP area as they dance the night away to the bar’s live entertainment.
Sharky’s Bar at Hammerhead Marina is located at 34988 Hammerhead Road, in Ketchum.
“A Helluva Good Time”
Performing at 2023 AquaPalooza Grand Lake will be House Party, a premier party/dance band based in Tulsa that covers a wide array of musical genres and plays lots of party hit favorites that will have everyone rockin’.
This will be another return appearance for House Party at AquaPalooza Grand Lake, whose family-friendly music, high-energy stage show and top-quality sound has made the band very popular with AquaPalooza attendees.
“We’re looking forward to AquaPalooza, which is all about the music and having a good time,” said Ken Young, who is the band’s drummer and vocalist. “Often we play where we’re the background. It’s fun to play for people who are there to have a good time and we’re ready to bring a helluva good time to Grand Lake.”
Young is one of the three professional musicians who make up House Party. According to Young, he and fellow band members, Tony Sabelo, lead vocalist, and Jim Long, guitar/vocalist, have added 10 new songs to their musical lineup to “keep it fresh”
House Party will take to the floating barge stage at 1 p.m. to get the party started.
Come by Grand or by Land
AquaPalooza is accessible by Grand or by land. Willow Park Marina is located at 34856 S. 4476 Road, Vinita, in the back of Ketchum Cove.
For those coming by land, parking passes will be required to enter Willow Park Marina. Parking passes for $13 are available for advance purchase online at AquapaloozaGrandLake.com or at the gate for $25, if space is available. Entry into the event grounds opens at 11 a.m.
The parking pass is valid for July 15, 2023 only, and must be shown at the gate to enter. All vehicles must be removed no later than 6 p.m. Unauthorized cars on the event outside these times will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Boat ramp access for launch is $5 and available on a first come, first served basis.
Party Responsibly
Everyone is invited to come have a grand time at AquaPalooza Grand Lake. However, event organizers remind you to drink and party responsibly.
“We want everyone to have fun but also get home safe,” said Robertson. “GRDA and local law enforcement will be on site for everyone’s safety.”
Those attending by land will be required to have life jackets and floatation devices to enter the water on the property. Children 12 years and younger are required to wear life jackets at all times. Inflatables need to be aired up prior to entry as no air tanks will be available on site.
Absolutely, no animals will be allowed entry into the Willow Park Marina property during AquaPalooza Grand Lake or in the swim area. Certified service animals excepted.
