2018 Aquapalooza Grand Lake Is Floating South This Summer
There’s only one place to be on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees this year on the third Saturday in July and that’s at Aquapalooza Grand Lake.
Attracting more than 14,000 boaters and water-lovers of all ages, Aquapalooza Grand Lake is legendary as the lake’s biggest on-the-water party. And, based on the number of phone calls organizers have already received, this year’s 2018 Aquapalooza Grand Lake promises to be the most epic party of all.
Presented by 360GrandLake.com, 2018 Aquapalooza Grand Lake will be rockin’ the lake from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 21. The event is free and open to all ages.
“Aquapalooza is a good time. It’s about having fun and enjoying Grand Lake,” said Michelle Prine, owner and president of 360GrandLake.com. “The event has continued to grow each year. People come from all over the country to be a part of this national event that has become a popular Grand Lake tradition.
“We’ve been getting nonstop calls since around the first of the year. People are booking their flights, reserving their rooms and RV spots, and getting ready to party.”
Thousands of boats are expected to gather for the ninth annual Aquapalooza Grand Lake event. In addition, hundreds will fill the designated swimming area in front of the floating barge stage, which will be anchored just off the shore. TowBoat U.S Grand Lake is the stage sponsor and will be providing the floating stage for this year’s event. Because the stage will be located so close to shore, the swim area will be easily accessible by land, by Grand or by giant unicorn (inflatable floatie).
After several years of holding the event near Bernice, Prine recently announced that Grand Lake’s largest on-the-water concert and raft up is floating south this summer. 2018 Aquapalooza Grand Lake is going to be held between the spillways, just off the Cherokee State Park boat ramp, in Disney. From land, the location is on Highway 28, east of the Disney Rock Cabins and the Pensacola Dam.
During the event, there will be no launching at the site of Aquapalooza Grand Lake, but boaters will be able to access the boat ramps at the Cherokee State Park near the Pensacola Dam.
Although organizers are changing it up a bit this year by moving to South Grand Lake, everything else that Aquapalooza Grand Lake is — fun in the sun, live music and a big ol’ party — will remain the same.
ParadisePads will once again be the official floating pads of Aquapalooza Grand Lake. The company will line the swim area in front of the stage with a number of colorful, foam water rafts for swimmers to lounge on during the event.
There will also be special promotion giveaways thrown from the stage, giving those swimming or lounging close by something besides great memories to take home.
Prine said organizers will provide “tons of inflatables, like beach balls and mats” in the swim area. However, she suggests swimmers bring their own inflatables and mats to know they’ll be comfortable.
Aquapalooza Grand Lake is a free public event made possible by generous business sponsors. Because it brings thousands of people to Grand Lake, the event is a great way to promote your business. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For details about being a sponsor, contact 360GrandLake.com at (918) 782-9546 or visit the Aquapalooza Grand Lake page on 360GrandLake.com.
Preparations for 2018 Aquapalooza Grand Lake are off to a great start. But there are still plenty of decisions and plans being made, the least of which is who will be performing at the concert. While organizers concentrate on working out all the details, you mark your calendar and start making plans to be a part of the fun.
