6th Annual Grand Dam Run
Welcome to the 6th Annual Grand Dam Run!
Calling all runners, walkers, joggers and just great folks that want to come out and support a great cause. Time to dust off those winter blues and enjoy the great place that God allows us to live in. In other words, time for the South Grand Lake Lions Grand Dam 5K Run!!
The SGL Lions and the Cherokee Nation Wings Program will once again be hosting the Grand Dam Run on April 1, 2017. All the proceeds from the race will benefit the South Grand Lake Lions Scholarship Program and the Veterans Honor Plaza.
Registration is available on line at https://runsignup.com/Race/OK/Langley/GrandDam5K or you can complete the form and email to mailto:trina-jackson@cherokee.org. The cost of the race is $25.00 for the 5k and $20.00 for the Dam Fun Run. You will want to enter this race for the awesome white long sleeve tech shirt alone. This is a USATF sanctioned and certified course mostly flat and fast.
Early packet pick up will be March 31, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Langley from 4:00pm till 6:00 pm; same day registration will be at 7:00 am on site. The Fun run will begin at 8:00 am and the 5K will begin at 8:30 am. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and top three female standard age groups in the 5K.
The Wings deadline is Wednesday, March 22, 2017, but you can still complete your entry and bring it the day of the event to compete. The race will begin at the Veterans Honor Plaza at 220 West Cherokee Avenue, Langley, OK. There will be plenty of parking; just watch for the signs.
Even if you don’t participate, it is an awesome sight to see all those runners crossing the historic Pensacola Dam. So come out and cheer them on!
