All Settlers’ Day Reunion
The All Settlers’ Day Reunion is an afternoon of friendship, music, and food. An opportunity to sit down and catch up with old friends, neighbors, and classmates. The event will take place on August 22 at the Craig County Fairgrounds & Community Center from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. The event is the oldest continuous community celebration in Craig County.
The Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce (VACC) organizes the event using generous donations from local businesses and organizations. The free lunch includes beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, and iced tea. Attendees have a chance to win one of several door prizes including gift certificates, automotive services, art, and gift baskets. The event also includes live music, face painting, and a coloring contest.
Each year the VACC recognizes distinguished guests at the reunion. Awards are given to the Oldest Settler, the Youngest Settler, the Farthest Traveled Settler, and the Longest Married Settler Couple.
The All Settlers’ Day Reunion follows the 82nd annual Original Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo Parade which kicks off rodeo week in Vinita on August 22, 2018. “American Spirit the Will Rogers Way” is this year’s theme. The parade will take place in Downtown Vinita starting at 11:00am. Hundreds of spectators will line the streets as over 100 parade entries march down Historic Route 66.
The 82nd annual Original Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo is one of the premier rodeo events in the Southwest. Every evening is filled with action-packed rodeo events, specialty acts, rodeo clowns, and bull fighters. This PRCA sanctioned event is scheduled for August 22 through 25.
