Annual Spring Bunco Benefit
The Friends of Langley Public Library are hosting the Annual Spring Bunco Benefit. This year’s event will be held Friday, May 3rd from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church – Gavin Hall – Langley, Ok.
Do you know the origins of Bunco? Bunco is a dice game that has its roots in 18th century England. It was played during Prohibition in the 1920s which gave rise to the term “bunco squads” to describe law enforcement groups who raided speakeasies and other gambling dens. The game saw a rebirth as a family game in the late 20th century and early this century.
Come join our 12th annual event, which includes a fun filled day of, games, prizes and a fabulous lunch with great desserts. The Friends of Langley Public Library are the hosts of the event with the proceeds going to Library Programs such as Summer Reading Program and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten and our new Learning Express Library. Tickets for the event are $10.00 and are available at the Library or from any Friends Member.
