Har-Ber Village Museum Ecology and Environment Day is Saturday, June 17

Har-Ber Village Museum, in Grove, is hosting its fifth annual Ecology and Environment Day on Saturday, June 17.

A wide variety of hands-on activities will be available, inviting visitors to explore our region’s resources, as well as environmentally friendly concepts such as recycling, starting and growing seeds, alternative energy sources and nurturing and protecting our wildlife.

Families with children, Scout groups and homeschoolers will all enjoy the many activities, which will be offered from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

As they walk throughout the village, Har-Ber Village volunteers and volunteers from Windham’s WorldMark Resort will help visitors craft a solar over, learn about biomes and habitats, get their faces painted, make a mobile greenhouse, create a seed ball, assemble a spool racer and visit letterboxing stations.

Visit the museum’s heirloom garden to see early varieties of vegetable plants growing. Visit the museum’s herb garden to see many different herbs used for a wide variety of purposes.

Also on Saturday, the Grand Lake Audubon Society will be staffing the Natural History activity room and the Delaware County Extension will be in the craft room with bugs, frogs and skulls, oh my!

All activities are free with regular paid admission to Har-Ber Village Museum. Admission is $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors 62+, $5 for children 6-13, under 6 and members are free.

For more information call (918) 786-6446, email info@har-bervillage.com or visit har-bervillage.com.

Museum admission is not necessary to shop in the Country Store, to eat at the Café or to walk the nature trail.

Har-Ber Village Museum’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
