It’s Vintage All the Way as Grove Pop-Up Market Kicks Off the Holiday Season

Christmas is coming to Vintage by the Creek Saturday, Nov. 11, and it will be vintage all the way as Grand Lake’s outdoor pop-up market embraces the holiday season.

Offering a quirky blend of shopping, socializing and activities, Vintage by the Creek is a one-of-a-kind experience set against a backdrop of vintage campers.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Vintage by the Creek will bring together an interesting collection of boutiques and vendors offering vintage, retro, new and trendy inventory, as well as up-cycled and reclaimed pieces, hand-crafted treasures and antiques.

This third and final pop-up market of the year is themed “Vintage All the Way,” so the vendors and boutiques at Vintage by the Creek will be featuring lots of holiday and seasonal items, including home decor, hand-made gifts, crafts and more.

Vintage by the Creek organizer and founder Kim Hacker is excited about the upcoming market and all it has to offer shoppers.

“We had 1,200-plus people at our October event. It was our largest crowd ever and it was a really, really good event,” Hacker said, “Our Christmas market is always our most popular, plus we have some awesome new vendors coming, so we’re expecting Vintage All the Way to be great.”

According to Hacker, the market will feature vendors from Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. Vendors are still being accepted through Wednesday, Nov. 8, meaning the number of vendors coming continues to grow.

The first 100 customers at Vintage by the Creek will get a “Vintage All the Way” tote bag, perfect for shopping the wide array of vendors and boutiques.

The outdoor pop-up market has something for everyone. In addition to oodles of shopping opportunities, the event will also include live music, food trucks, a wreath-making class and Christmas painting classes, as well as a visit from Santa Claus.

Led by Serena Wilson, the wreath-making class will be held at 2 p.m. and costs $45. These classes always fill up quickly, so Hacker suggests signing up early by commenting on the Vintage by the Creek Facebook page.

There is no need to sign up for the Christmas painting classes, which will be offered all day. The painting classes are $10.

Members of Cheers Tumbling and Cheerleading will be holding a fundraising bake sale. The baked goods available will include Amish rolls, cinnamon rolls and more.

Children of all ages won’t want to miss the chance to see Santa Claus, who will be visiting Vintage by the Creek from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In addition to sharing their Christmas wishes with Santa, children can have their picture taken with the jolly old elf. Jennifer Houseman Photography will be taking the photos, which will cost $10 for a 4x6 photo. No appointment is necessary.

“We invite everyone to come out and support this event,” Hacker said. “Help us keep this small-town jewel alive. The more people who come, the more vendors will come in the future.

“This is our last market of the year. We won’t open back up until next June, so come on out and experience all Vintage by the Creek has to offer.”

Vintage by the Creek’s Vintage All the Way event is being held in conjunction with the Grove Area Merchants Christmas Open House. Hacker encourages everyone to drop by participating merchants in Grove for a city-wide shopping experience.

The Christmas Open House is taking place on Friday, Nov. 10, as well as on Saturday, Nov. 1. For more information on the event, visit the Grove Area Merchants Christmas Open House Facebook page.
