Miami and Vinita Welcome Autumn With Fall Festivals

It’s beginning to look a lot like fall, and Miami is kicking off the autumn season with its Festi-FALL event Friday and Saturday, Sept. 8 and 9.

Miami’s 2017 Festi-FALL, a festival brought to you by the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, will be two days of celebration and fun. These two days are sure to ring in the fall season, so be sure not to miss this fun opportunity.

All events will take place in Miami, starting on Friday, Sept. 8, at noon. On Friday, join the Chamber staff and board of directors as they celebrate the grand opening of the Miami Regional Chamber of Commerce headquarters. The new building is located at 11 South Main St. in Miami, just across from Security Bank.

The official ribbon-cutting will be at noon, followed by speaker Cornell Wesley, the Economic Development representative for the U.S. Department of Commerce. The public is encouraged to take tours, engage in the offered workshops and enjoy the networking experience.

The fun will spill over into Saturday, Sept. 9, with the Sidewalk Sale.

Activities throughout the day will include a United Way 5K Run, Wardog Chili Cookoff, Miami Arts & Humanities Art Walk, Doggie Diva Contest, a car show, Native American dance exhibition, and once-a-year sales from merchants and arts and craft vendors.

The Sidewalk Sale will start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

Another great Autumn celebration coming up this weekend is the Fall Festival in Vinita, hosted by the Vinita FFA.

The fall fun will take place at the Vinita Ag building at 801 North Adair on Saturday, Sept. 9.

A festival market and food trailer will be available at approximately 7:30 a.m., where all your fall favorites will be available. Items such as apple fritters, pumpkin fritters, breakfast burritos, apple pancakes with maple syrup, caramel lattes and vanilla-iced coffees will be available for purchase at the food trailer.

The Vinita FFA has partnered with “Okie Originals” to showcase their best fall products such as jellies, jams, mums, pumpkins and homegrown beef, pork and eggs in the festival market.

The Fall Festival will run until noon.
