Vinita Christmas Parade of Lights Accepting Entries

The community is invited to participate in the Vinita Christmas Parade of Lights hosted by the Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00pm. “Sounds of Christmas” is this year’s theme. The parade will take place in Downtown Vinita, beginning and ending at South Park. Parade route: north on S. Scraper St., east on W. Illinois Ave., south on S. Wilson St., and west on W. Delaware Ave. Families and friends will line the streets as over 100 parade entries march down Historic Route 66.

Entries for this year’s parade are now being accepted. Horses, floats, antique cars, and more are welcome to join local marching bands, the Shriners, local fire departments, the Craig County Sheriff, elected officials, and others. Register online atwww.vinita.com/events. Paper applications are available at the VACC office located at 105 West Delaware Avenue. The deadline to apply is December 3, 2018.

Christmas Parade sponsorships are available. For $100.00 businesses, organizations, or individuals will receive choice parade number, logo recognition on the VACC website and social media, name recognition during the parade, plus name recognition in the event press release. The Vinita Christmas Parade of Lights has entertained thousands of children and adults year after year as it winds through the historic streets of downtown Vinita.  In its early days, when Vinita was a new town, the Christmas parade quickly became an annual tradition that has continued to be a favorite event for generations. With “Sounds of Christmas” themed entries, including brightly decorated floats, marching bands, equestrian units, and a cast of magical Christmas characters, Vinita's favorite parade is an event not to be missed.
