My Good Life

Hi!!! My name’s Bubba and this is my story - which has been okayed by the people who know me best.

In my first life I had lots of jobs and life was pretty good. Then I ended up homeless and was lucky enough to find a permanent home at this really cool place, Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter, in Vinita. Like most determined, goal oriented dudes, I have a certain set of rules by which I live. It did take the staff and friends at Country Pets Bed and Breakfast (Bnb)to figure them out - - but they finally did it.

Rule #1…I’m terrified of storms – even the hint of storms. Sooo, when I can’t stay at this special Vinita apartment with this white haired lady…I get to go to Country Pets BnB. And, if it storms in the middle of the night and I’m at the shelter - - it’s not pretty the next morning, according to Mike, my very best friend.

Rule #2..I’ve figured out the schedule and everyone has learned to not confuse me when it comes to going to my BnB. One time, Kristal visited me at the shelter and I was ready to go with her. She didn’t come for me until the next day….everyone learned a lesson. Mike will verify.

Rule #3… I’m very protective of anyone who’s at the front desk. When a car pulls up, I jump up on the table in my room, check out who’s coming through the door and then sprint to the front office and let them know I’m there. I have 3 different welcoming songs. A short one – kinda pleasant – means I like you and you’re okay. My second song is more serious and usually invokes a “stop in your tracks” response from the visitor(s). My third song leaves no doubt… “stay on that side of the counter”. No, I don’t bite, don’t charge…,but I’m big, my bark is bigger …that’s all they need to know.

I’m popular..I have 3 different homes.. and as long as everyone remembers the rules, I’m really really happy. Just watch me dance around when Kristal comes to pick me up. Yup – my name is Bubba – I’ve found my home(s) and I’m happy!!!
