The Board of Directors of Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake would like to thank everyone who attended this year's annual Christmas Breakfast/Holiday Dessert Auction on December 7th at the Grove Community Center. We sincerely appreciate the contribution of breakfast and dessert items from local restaurants and individuals, monetary donations, and the endless hours of devoted time and effort from all the wonderful volunteers involved.
We would like to acknowledge the following contributors to our event: Downstream Casino and Resort, Bank of Oklahoma, Dr. Karl Jobst of Grand Lake Dental, Bank of Grand Lake, Arvest Bank, and Grand Savings Bank for monetary donations; Matt Sowers of Drake's Restaurant for preparing at his restaurant and delivering to the Community Center the hundreds of flaky biscuits and tasty sausage patties; Janis and Eric Pedersen for purchasing the biscuits and sausage; Connie and Jerry Ruzicka of AOK Properties for purchasing the cases of egg mix; Carol and Tom Rice for providing all the paper goods, Harp's Food Stores and Wal-Mart for additional breakfast items; and Grand Rental Station for the use of coffee urns and serving dishes.
The dessert auction definitely highlighted celebrating the Holiday season when people took home the most luscious desserts ever set out on one table. We sincerely thank Auctioneer David Barber of Butler Creek Auction Gallery, Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, who volunteered his time and talent and kept the fun auction running smoothly. Our appreciation also goes to this year's celebrity servers: Grove Chief of Police Mark Morris, City Councilman Ivan Devitt, and the City of Grove Fire Department.
And our special thanks to everyone who attended this year's Christmas Breakfast and Dessert Auction. Second Chance Pet Rescue would not be able to help the homeless dogs and cats in Northeast Oklahoma without the continued support from the people and businesses of the Grove and Grand Lake communities. Our wish is for a joyous and safe Holiday season for all.
