Upcoming Barkaritaville and Cars for Critters Benefits for SC Pet Rescue
Rescue of homeless animals takes a dedicated staff, many volunteers, and a lot of money! Second Chance Pet Rescue of Grand Lake is pleased to announce two important benefits to be held on Saturday, August 19, to help the homeless animals of Northeast Oklahoma.
First fund raiser that day will be the Cars for Critters Indoor Car Show at the Grove Civic Center from 11 am to 3 pm. Free admission to the public. Along with American Classic and European Exotic cars to view in air-conditioned comfort, there will be food, music, raffles, and door prizes. Fun for the entire family.
If you are a car enthusiast and have a sweet ride to show off, enter your car in the indoor car show. Classics, hot rods, trucks, and special interest cars are all welcome. Car show registration will be at Grove Civic Center on Friday, August 18, after 4 pm (cars may be left inside Grove Civic Center overnight); and on Saturday, August 19, from 7-11 am. Trophies awarded for "Best of Show," "People's Choice," and for Top 20 models in categories 1985 and older and 1986 and newer. A cruise down Main Street begins at 3 pm. Pre-registration car entry fee is $15; Saturday car entry fee is $20.
And later that evening, plan to join the fun at the Barkaritaville party. It's a summer night's party with dinner, live music, and a charity auction at Honey Creek Landing (next to Honey Creek Bridge) from 6-10 pm. The event will be catered by The Parrot Steakhouse and Grill. Tickets are $40 per person and may be purchased online atwww.doitforthepets.com, the Second Chance Thrift Shop (220 E. 3rd Street), The Parrot Steakhouse, or call Theresa Swift at 918-964-0088. Reserved tables for 8 or more friends can be made by contacting Mrs. Swift.
