Beautiful Labor Day Weekend at Shanri-La

Happy Labor Day Weekend! It’s hard to believe another month is gone already. We are happy to welcome many of our state’s County Commissioners to Shangri-La this weekend, along with many contractors and suppliers, for the Circuit Engineering District #1 annual meeting. The Oklahoma Osteopathic Association kicks off the month with us at Shangri-La, as well.
 
If you are a member of the Shangri-La Wine Club, we hope you will join Denise to kick off the holiday weekend in style with a Wine Mingle in the club house lobby Friday, September 1 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. That should be a lot of fun – and some great wine!
 
The college football season starts this week and we have greatly expanded venues for game day fun this year. The Buffalo Bar and Doc’s will have coverage of the OSU-Tulsa game Thursdaynight, and Eddy’s Lakeside Bar will join the football fun with all three venues covering the OU-UTEP and Alabama-Florida State games on Saturday.
 
There will be live Labor Day weekend musical entertainment at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar. Saturdaynight will feature a great musical variety from Chris Hyde, followed by the high-energy performance of Ayngel & John with Zodiac Sunday night.
 
Remember, the Monkey Island Labor Day Fireworks display will be at Grand Lake Regional Airport Sunday night. Enjoy!
 
The Friday night “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race is at 5:00 Friday ($10 entry). This will be the last Alternate Shot horse race of the year. Sign up at the Golf Shop if you would like to join the fun. Due to the holiday, the SLWGA play day has been moved from Monday to Tuesday this week. 18-holers will have a Low Gross/Low Net format while the 9-holers will play a little Poker.
 
Remember, the Spa at Shangri-La is now open at the hotel Wednesday-Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call 918-257-4204, Extension 7008 for reservations for massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, IV therapy, Botox or filler treatment. The girls at the spa also have mani-pedi packages for kids!
