Fantastic Fall Weekend at Shangri-La

Executive Chef Michael Bujold will have the culinary team at their best Saturday night for A Taste of Grand held at the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital campus beginning at 6:00. This is a terrific event with the best restaurants in the Grand Lake area putting their best foot forward. Chef Michael has pulled out all the stops for this competition, preparing Onion Tarte Tatin (a pastry tart with caramelized onions, goat cheese, chervil) and Crescent City Blackened Red Fish (blackened red fish file with crawfish etouffee and white rice) as entrée offerings and Assorted Mini Macaroons and the already-famous Mini Shangri-La Donuts as dessert dishes. We hope you can show up at the event and support Shangri-La in this important fundraising event for the INTEGRIS Grove Foundation.
 
We are so glad we had so many members join us for our Member Appreciation Party last Saturday night. It was a great event – and we were delighted to have the opportunity to show our sincere appreciation for the best club members anywhere – Shangri-La members! Thank you for your support.
 
This week’s “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Friday. Contact the Golf Shop if you would like to sign up ($10 entry). The infamous Coon & Possum Hunters Golf Group returns to the Shangri-La Course this weekend; and the Women’s Golf Association will hold their regular Play Day on Monday. 18-holers will play Low Gross/Low Net. The 9-holers will play Orange Ball.
 
We have some great groups joining us at the resort and on the golf course again this week. We are also happy to host Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, Kirkpatrick Bank, Janssen Pharmaceutical, Canfield & Joseph, the Dick Ranes Golf Group, Conner & Winters, the Minden Party and, of course, the Coon & Possum Hunters Golf Group this week.
 
Enjoy college and NFL football action with us at Doc’s and Eddy’s. Both have multiple sports screens to keep up with all the action. PLEASE NOTE: Eddy’s Lakeside Bar will remain open Friday-Sunday throughout the month of September, however, Fridays Eddy’s now opens at 5:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 a.m. but will still open at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday & Sunday. The last day of operation for Eddy’s this season will be Sunday, October 1.
 
Remember, the Spa at Shangri-La is open at the hotel Wednesday from 10:00-3:00 and Thursday-Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call for reservations for massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, IV therapy, Botox or filler treatment. The girls at the spa also have mani-pedi packages for kids!
