Fun Weekend at Shangri-La

There are some important times and dates to note at Shangri-La this week. The Summit Restaurant will close Friday at 3:00 p.m. to allow the staff time to prepare for the fabulous Wine Dinner which begins with hors d’ oeuvres in the club house lobby at 5:30. There will be no regular dinner service at the Summit Restaurant Friday evening due to the Wine Dinner.
 
Speaking of the Summit, please note that NEW WINTER HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE SUMMIT RESTAURANT begin Monday, November 13. The Summit Restaurant will be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during the winter, although there will be beverage service at the Buffalo Bar from 11:00-3:00. Thursdays, the Summit will be open 10:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. for both lunch and dinner service all three days. Sundays, we will offer a special brunch menu from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
 
There are still dining options, of course. The Turnhouse will offer sandwiches and snacks 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. – and Doc’s Bar & Grill at the hotel is open 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. until midnight with a wide variety of dining options.
 
Remember, you can leave the Thanksgiving cooking to us – and still take all the credit by ordering our special “Thanksgiving-to-Go” dinner ($20 per person). Orders must be received by 2:00 p.m.Friday, November 17 for pick-up Thanksgiving Day. To order, contact Linda Wall at 918-257-4204 Extension 3516 or email her at linda.wall@shangrilaok.com. Doc’s will also be serving Thanksgiving Dinner from 11:00 a.m. until close on Thanksgiving Day. We would love to have you join us; and if you haven’t already made reservations for our popular Black Friday Night Seafood Buffet at the Summit Restaurant the night after Thanksgiving, we recommend you do so quickly. That is a very popular event.
 
Saturday night is another special night for Shangri-La. Our golf course will be featured on the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department’s popular television show Discover Oklahoma.Television personality Cindy Morrison will visit with PGA Director of Golf Rob Yanovitch and member Judi Barber. The program airs at 6:30 p.m. on KTUL, Channel 8 in Tulsa, KFOR, Channel 4 in Oklahoma City, KSWO, Channel 7 in Lawton, and KCTU, Channel 43 in Wichita.
 
Mark your calendars, too, for our annual Festivas Party at the Golf Shop Saturday evening, November 18. We will have complimentary wine, beer, hors d’ oeuvres and great Christmas shopping gift bargains – including chances to win additional discounts. We’ll even wrap your gifts for you. That’s always a fun evening. Please plan to join us from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
 
We are happy to welcome the Oklahoma Marinas Association to Shangri-La Resort this week for their annual statewide conference. We are also excited to host the Bourn Party Thursday, the Birds & Birdies Golf Tournament Friday, the Uttinger/Reister wedding Saturday, and Hilti-OCJ Mini Pit next week.
 
Enjoy PGA Golf, college and NFL football action, NASCAR and NBA basketball with us at Doc’s Bar & Grill. Doc’s has become Grand Lake’s favorite spot for sporting events.
 
The Spa at Shangri-La is open at the hotel Wednesday from 10:00-3:00 and Thursday-Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call for reservations for massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, IV therapy, Botox or filler treatment. The girls at the spa also have mani-pedi packages for kids!
