Picture Perfect Weekend at Shangri-La

The passage of a very busy Labor Day Weekend at Shangri-La really didn’t seem to slow things down much. The Oklahoma City Thunder Girls will be joining us at Shangri-La for the next two weekends while they shoot photographs around the lake for their new Thunder Girls Calendar. They’ll be with us Saturday & Sunday, September 9-10 and 16-17. Watch for them around the resort & around the pool.
 
This week, Shangri-La Resort is also happy to welcome Medley Equipment Company, Quik Trip, the Wagoner Hospital, and Montereau. We are also thrilled to have crews from Oklahoma Today Magazine and the Discover Oklahoma television show here this week preparing upcoming features on Shangri-La Golf Club & Resort.
 
Despite having Labor Day in the rear view mirror, Eddy’s Lakeside Bar will remain open for weekend fun & football Friday, Saturday & Sunday for the foreseeable future. We will have a full lineup of college and NFL football as well as PGA Golf and NASCAR at Eddy’s, Doc’s, and the Buffalo Bar this fall. Remember, Oklahoma State plays Friday night this week (7:00 at South Alabama). The OU-Ohio State game, of course, is Saturday night.
 
The Shangri-La Women’s Golf Association is playing an “away game” on their Unmystery Trip today, but they will return to the home course Monday for their regular Play Day. 18-holers will play a Guess Your Score format while 9-holers will play Low Putts. The Friday night “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race is at 5:00 Friday ($10 entry).
 
Don’t forget to Save the Date on your calendar – our Member Appreciation Party is scheduled for Saturday, September 16 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Doc’s outdoor patio. We are fortunate that the OKC Thunder Girls will join us for a couple of hours to meet our members. It should be a lot of fun. Come thirsty and hungry!
 
Remember, the Spa at Shangri-La is now open at the hotel Wednesday from 10:00-3:00 and Thursday-Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call for reservations for massage therapy, manicures, pedicures, IV therapy, Botox or filler treatment. The girls at the spa also have mani-pedi packages for kids!
