GOLF CART PARADE, “SCARY-OKIE” & SHRIMP BOIL THURSDAY

The Shangri-La weekend kicks off Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Eddy’s, just south of the hotel with the 2019 Halloween Golf Cart Parade. Bring your golf cart, decorated or not, and join the fun. There will, however, be prizes for the best costumes. The fun continues at 6:00 with “Scary-Okie,” Jason Morgan’s own personal Halloween version of our Thursday night Karaoke along with Chef Mike’s fabulous boiled shrimp! Wear your costume! There will be prizes.

WINTER HOURS OF OPERATION START SUNDAY

Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2:00 a.m. Sunday. That will also begin Shangri-La’s Winter Hours of Operation. Doc’s Bar & Grill will continue to be open for three meals a day, seven days a week (6:30-9:00 Sunday-Thursday and 6:30-10:00 Friday-Saturday).

The Summit Restaurant will not offer lunch service through the winter months. The Turn House, however, will have an expanded food & beverage menu. The Summit and Buffalo Bar will be open for dinner service through the winter – open Friday & Saturday evenings for members and hotel guests only – and open to the public Sunday & Monday evenings. We have a great addition for the winter months at the Summit. Popular entertainer Terry Jordan will be at the keyboards beginning at 6:30 every Saturday & Sunday evening through March. We’re very excited about having such incredible talent available for our members & guests throughout the winter!

COOKING WITH CHEF MIKE

Saturday afternoon is the first of a series of November Cooking Classes with Chef Mike (2:00-4:00 in the Holderman Ballroom at the hotel). Executive Chef Michael Bujold will kick off the November schedule Saturday with preparation of Chicken Piccata with Linguine. You will prepare the food, enjoy your own meal, and receive a written recipe. Cost of each class is $25. There will also be a cash bar, of course, to enhance your skills.

SLWGA BRUNCH AND WINTERSET MASQUERADE

Saturday morning, the Shangri-La Women’s Golf Association will hold their annual Fall Membership Meeting & Brunch in the Charles Davis Room at the club house beginning at 10:30. Saturday evening, we are thrilled to host the Delaware County Children’s Advocacy Network’s Winterset Mardi Gras Masquerade. This sold-out event is DCCSAN’s biggest fundraising event of the year. We wish them the very best.

SUNDAY BRUNCH AT DOC’S!

Sunday Brunch at Doc’s is served from 9:00-2:00. Regular breakfast menu items are available until 11:00 a.m. with lunch menu items available after 11:00. Doc’s is always open to the general public; and brunch specials are priced at $12-$15.  This week's Sunday Brunch specials include Italia Benedict, a Smothered Bayou Bagel, Caramel Apple French Toast, Huevos Rancheros, and a Reed Burger.

Remember, too, that Doc’s Bar & Grill offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.

TRIVIA, TACOS & TEQUILA TUESDAY

Don’t forget to mark your calendar to join us every Tuesday evening for Trivia, Tacos & Tequila Tuesday at Doc’s from 6:00-9:00 p.m. It’s great fun, great food, and great beverages. Trivia competition hosted by our own Jason Morgan, $3 award-winning tacos (or 3 for $8) and a variety of tequila choices including $5 margarita specials.
