The Final Weekend of the Year at Shangri-La

The final weekend of the year starts Thursday at Shangri-La Resort with a Camping World Bowl Watch Party at 4:00 p.m. as the Oklahoma State Cowboys take on Virginia Tech. Sunday evening is the New Year’s Eve Members Only Wine Dinner at the Summit Restaurant ($150 per person – reservations required). Sunday evening also looks like a busy New Year’s Eve with a lot of people taking advantage of our Accommodations & Transportation special featuring standard rooms for $129 with a late check-out on New Year’s Day (4:00 p.m.). Registered hotel guests will also receive free shuttle service to and from any of the Monkey Island area party spots – Shebang, Big Shots, Monkey Island Pub, Blind Swine, Road Hog Saloon, and Cherokee Casino-Grove.
 
Doc’s will feature a New Year’s Eve champagne toast at midnight along with a midnight breakfast buffet. The first day of the year begins with a party, too – our Rose Bowl/Sugar Bowl Watch Party at Doc’s begins at 4:00 p.m. featuring the Oklahoma Sooners and Georgia in the Rose Bowl followed by Alabama and Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. The winners of those games will face off for the national championship January 8.
 
Prior to the kick-off of the Rose Bowl, Shangri-La member and former Broadway performer Ron Young will treat us with a live performance of the National Anthem at Doc’s – and Chef Michael and his crew have put together a fabulous two-game buffet from 4:00-9:00 Monday night.  It should be a great party!
 
If you need to rehydrate following New Year’s Eve, The Spa at Shangri-La will be open Monday, January 1 from 8:00-5:00 offering all regular spa services including IV Therapy for those who need a little rehydrating before the Rose Bowl/Sugar Bowl Watch Party at Doc’s.
 
Shangri-La Marina remains closed for the holiday until Tuesday, January 2 – but all other Shangri-La facilities maintain regular hours of operation (with the exception of the Wine Dinner at the Summit Sunday night).
