Upcoming Events at Shangri-La August 2-8, 2018

As we kick off another month, it’s a very busy weekend at all Shangri-La venues. On the golf course, it’s Run a Monkey weekend as we are privileged to host one of our biggest annual events, courtesy of Shangri-La member Nevyle Cable, the founder of this fun tournament. Friday night is also our regular “Yellow Rabbit Run” horse race. Sunday, we are honored to host the PGA Oakley Cup Tournament, just ahead of the final round of the SLWGA Eclectic Tournament on Monday, along with the Home of Hope Special Olympics Golf Team. Wednesday is Junior Players Play Day.

At the resort this week, we welcome the GPA Midstream Association, an Oral Roberts University Cabinet Retreat, Branch Communications, Pinnacle Management Group, The Robson Family Reunion, the Oklahoma Chiropractors Association, the Church dinner party, the Durbin, Larimore & Bialick law firm, KMT Waterjet Systems, and Ford Motor Company (FDAF).

Golf fans will undoubtedly be crowded around the sports screens in the Buffalo Bar, Doc’s and Eddy’s this weekend for an especially big weekend on the PGA Tour. The Barracuda Championship is in Reno, and Akron, Ohio hosts the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational which features all of the current top 50 players in the world. NFL action also kicks off with the Hall of Fame Game Thursday night featuring the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens.

Chef Mike and his culinary crew also have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00) and, as another option, Doc’s Bar & Grill now offers a weekend Breakfast Buffet from 7:00 a.m.-Noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Choose from a Continental Breakfast or a Full Buffet. The newly approved change in our liquor law allows also you to enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sundays. We are now servingSunday at both Doc’s and the Summit beginning at 10:00 – and at Eddy’s upon opening at 11:00.

Doc’s Bar & Grill is open daily for three meals, and now offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
