Upcoming Events at Shangri-La August 30-September 5, 2018

It’s a big Labor Day Weekend ahead at Shangri-La! Saturday night, 5^th Elementwill be on stage at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar from 8:00-11:00 to celebrate the holiday in style. Eddy’s will also have extended hours/days of operation for the holiday – 11:00-Midnight Friday, Saturday & Sunday, and 11:00-6:00 Monday.

As is the case with all summer holiday weekends, our “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race Friday at 5:00 will be an Alternate Shot format. This will be the last Alternate Shot Horse Race of the year, so get signed up. Just contact the Golf Shop. Tuesday, we are privileged to host golf professionals from throughout the region for the PGA South Central Section Pro/Assistant Pro Tournament. With the Monday holiday, the Women’s Golf Association Play Day has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 5. 18-holers will play a Low Gross/Low Net format with 9-holers playing Low Net.

At the resort this week, we are excited to be hosting a group from Dell EMC for the second consecutive week, as well as the District #1 Oklahoma Circuit Engineering group, the Brewer and Pailis parties, CEC Corporation and Seairlan World Tours.

Chef Mike and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). This week’s menu includes Smashed Avocado Benedicts, a B.L.A.S.T. (bacon, lettuce, avocado, Swiss cheese, tomato on Grilled Ciabatta bread), Blueberry Pancakes, and Spud Deluxe.

As another option, Doc’s Bar & Grill offers a weekend Breakfast Buffet from 7:00 a.m.-Noon. Normally, the Doc’s Breakfast Buffet is available only on Saturdays and Sundays – but this week, it will be available on Labor Day Monday, as well. Choose from a Continental Breakfast or a full buffet.

In addition to PGA play and MLB, college football and the NFL regular season both get underway this week. Doc’s Bar & Grill is Grand Lake’s favorite spot for watching sporting events. We’ll have the OSU game Thursday night, the OU game Saturday morning and the Tulsa game Saturday night (among many others). Doc’s is open daily for three meals, and also offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
