Upcoming Events at Shangri-La June 7-13, 2018

It’s hard to believe Shangri-La’s Resort Hotel is now officially in its second year of operation – but it is gratifying, indeed, to have such incredible response from members, guests, corporations, associations, golf groups, educational entities, and so many important life’s moments like weddings, receptions, showers, anniversaries, and reunions.

We are exceptionally busy this week. We are honored to host the Home of Hope 50^th Anniversary Banquet Saturday night. Last year’s Home of Hope Banquet was the very first event held in the new hotel! We are also privileged this week to host Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma, Northwestern Mutual, Community Bank Advisors, the Oklahoma Bar Association Board of Examiners, the GRDA Watershed Group, Hilti, Gallagher Benefit Services, Edward Jones, Cimcool, Magellan Midstream, Hillary Townsend’s Wedding Shower, Belmar Men’s Group, the Lowry Golf Group and the annual Trapper’s Cup.  Saturdaymorning from 8:00-10:00 at the hotel, we will also be registering Monkey Island walkers who are willing to “Walk with the Monkeys” to raise money for the extension of the trail.

On the golf course, in addition to the three guest events, the weekly “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race will be Friday at 5:00. Sign up at the Golf Shop if you’d like to participate. The SLWGA will host the annual Shangri-La Tee Da Tournament Monday and Tuesday and, of course, the Home of Hope Special Olympics Golf Team will be on the course late Monday. Wednesday is our first Junior Players Play Day in preparation for Junior Players Academy upcomingJune 18-20.

“Risky Business” will be on stage Saturday night at Eddy’s Lakeside Bar from8:00-11:00 p.m. Eddy’s will be open from 11:00-midnight Friday and Saturday – and from 11:00-6:00 Sunday. The Bar 211 patio on the roof of Doc’s is a great place to spend weekend afternoons. It is open Friday from 3:00-10:00, Saturday11:00-10:00, and Sunday 11:00-6:00.

Chef Michael and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). The regular Buffalo Bar Menu will be available, as well. Remember, too, that summer hours on in effect offering dinner service Thursday-Sunday and lunch service Thursday-Monday. Bar service is available Tuesday-Wednesday 11:00-6:00, as well – with food available from the expanded menu at The Turnhouse.

Remember, too, that the Summit Restaurant is now open for dinner serviceThursday-Sunday evenings, and lunch service Thursday-Monday. The Buffalo Bar is also open Monday-Wednesday from 11:00-6:00. Food service at the Buffalo Bar is available Tuesday & Wednesday from the expanded menu at the Turnhouse.

Doc’s Bar & Grill now offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday; and there is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
