Upcoming Events at Shangri-La October 25-31, 2018
Are you ready for some holiday fun? It’s time! Saturday night is the 2nd Annual Shangri-La Community Fall Festival. This open-to-the-public family fun festival is Saturday night from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the “Shangri-La Woods” located adjacent to the Monkey Island Fire Department. We’ll have bounce houses, a bonfire, a spooky hayride through the woods, live music by “No Apparent Reason,” a costume contest, “trunk-or-treating” fun for the kids – and a variety of available food and beverages. There is no admission charge. Spread the word and come join the fun Saturday night!
Monday, the Shangri-La Women’s Golf Association will wrap up their regular play-day fun for the season with their big Halloween Mixed Scramble. If you’re on the golf course during this great event, don’t be scared – SLWGA Members always play this tournament in an appropriate costume of the season!

New Operating Schedules Upcoming for Doc’s and the Summit!
As a reminder, Shangri-La dining options will be revised early next month. In order to ensure top-quality food and beverages and attentive service for our members and guests with a smaller off-season staff, once Daylight Saving Time ends, Shangri-La Resort will implement some operating and scheduling changes for Doc’s Bar & Grill and The Summit Restaurant effective Monday, November 5, 2018.
Beginning on that date we will offer seven-day-a-week breakfast and lunch service at Doc’s Bar & Grill and seven-day-a-week dinner service for members and hotel guests at The Summit Restaurant. We will also expand the Summit dinner menu significantly to offer a wider variety of choices. The seven-day-a-week dinner service at The Summit should also be of benefit to members as they make their dining plans to meet off-season food minimums. This change for the off-season ensures that we still accommodate our members and guests three meals a day with the quality of food and service you expect.
Beginning Monday, November 5, Doc’s Bar & Grill will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. seven days a week. The Summit Restaurant will be open from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
We are hosting a great group of guests at the resort this week including the Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma, Leadership Grove, a City of Tulsa Retreat, the Oklahoma Association of General Contractors, the Tulsa Regional Chamber, and Regeneration Nation.
Chef Mike and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). This week’s Brunch Menu choices include Shrimp & Grits Eggs Benedict, a Breakfast Club Sandwich, Pumpkin Pancakes, and an incredible Chef’s Choice Omelet breakfast. In addition to a great menu, we also offer a great selection of brunch libations. Ask about our Café Cocktails. If you prefer, there’s also a great breakfast menu at Doc’s.
It’s World Series time – and Doc’s Bar & Grill is Grand Lake’s favorite spot for watching sporting events. Series games are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights and, if necessary, Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition to the World Series coverage, we’ll also have complete coverage of PGA golf, the OU-Kansas State, Tulsa-Tulane, and OSU-Texas games, NASCAR racing, and NFL action, as well as OKC Thunder basketball.
Until November 5, Doc’s is open daily for three meals, and also offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
