Upcoming Events at Shangri-La September 6-12, 2018
With the Labor Day weekend behind us and the 2018 Member Appreciation Party just a week away, there’s still plenty happening at Shangri-La! The regular “Yellow Rabbit Run” Horse Race is Friday at 5:00. If you haven’t participated, sign up in the Golf Shop. It’s really a lot of fun. Monday, the SLWGA ladies will be on the course for their regular play day – and Tuesday, many of them will head for Broken Arrow and the Golf Club of Oklahoma for their annual “Un-Mystery Trip” outing.
At the resort this week, we welcome Grand Lake Sail & Power Squadron, Kirkpatrick Bank, the Heartland Classics Boat Club, Spring Valley Ranch, Dell EMC, Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, the Oklahoma Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association, Ozark Electric Cooperative, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hub International, and Compsource Mutual Insurance Company.
Chef Mike and his culinary crew have a very special Sunday Brunch line-up for the Summit Restaurant this week (10:00-2:00). Sunday’s line-up at the Summit includes Smoked Salmon Benedict, a Breakfast Burrito, Strawberry Waffles, and The Heavy Hitter Breakfast. As another option, Doc’s Bar & Grill offers a weekend Breakfast Buffet from 7:00 a.m.-Noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Eddy’s Lakeside Bar opens at 11:00 a.m. Friday-Sunday – and remains open until midnight Friday & Saturday and until 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Eddy’s will remain open through the month of September.
Doc’s Bar & Grill is Grand Lake’s favorite spot for watching sporting events. In addition to PGA play, NASCAR, NFL action and the final weekend of the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament, we’ll have all the college football action including OU-UCLA at noon Saturday and OSU-South Alabama Saturday night at 7:00. Doc’s is open daily for three meals, and also offers Pizza Delivery Service on Monkey Island Thursday-Monday. There is a phone number dedicated exclusively to that service. If you live on the Island, just call 918-257-7777 and place your order. We’ll bring it right to your door.
