Fall Golf a Great time to play at Grand Lake

Another year has come and gone. There will be an announcement soon of new board officers.

Result from last tournament (of Champions) from Mike Williams:

Kenny Cole topped the leaderboard at Shangri-La Golf Club Saturday, October 15, walking away with 2016 Shangri-La Men’s Golf Association Championship.  Richard Lippitt was a close second-place.

Jack Moore took Net Championship honors in the annual MGA tournament, followed (in order) by Roger Cook, Frank Schaffer, Tim McCrary, Greg Brasel and Gary Anstine. Four closest-to-the-pin winners also took home cash for their excellent play in the tournament.Jim Wyche took top honors in that category, followed by Roger Cook, Mark Athey, and Kenny Cole.

The Championship Tournament wrapped up a tremendous season for the Men’s Golf Association at Shangri-La. Players and club professionals, alike, are already looking forward to 2017 play which will begin in the Spring.

Fall Golf-Great time to play

As the end of the golf season approaches, most amateur and casual golfers also plan to stay away from the links till spring comes around. While they are not wrong in doing so, they can use this opportunity to get some quality time on the course. One can easily book a slot as fewer people want to play golf during fall and winter. Moreover, the courses are in the best possible shape as they are being prepared for next season.

GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

During your swing, there is a fine line between too much lateral motion and not enough.

If you will just concentrate on “keeping your nose as still as possible” you will reduce this motion. Another big sliding problem is your trailing knee. It should remain as “still as possible” too. And of course, don’t forget to keep “lead arm as straight as possible”.
