Happy New Year! Make it a good one
With the New Year come new promises. Many of you probably resolve to go to the gym more often, lead a healthier lifestyle or quit smoking. But for golfers who continue to struggle on the links, it’s all about improving their game.
Here are 5 New Year’s resolutions that will help you enjoy your upcoming season even more and improve your golf game.
Take at least one golf lesson
Since you resolve to get better at this sport, why not take it a step further and add this to your list of resolutions. Focus on areas of your game that needs improvement – driving, pitching or chipping. Find the best instructor in that area of the game and take lessons
.
Make more time to play
We all want to spend more time on the course, but considering how busy we are with work and family life; it can be difficult to squeeze golf into our schedule. Let your Buddies know when you can play. It will be hard for you not to head to the course, knowing that your buddies can’t play without you. Plus, how can you get better if you don’t play often?
Get flexible
A lot of golfers end up with bad shots due to stiff and inflexible muscles. This is
especially true for golfers who have taken a break during the winter months. Resolve to get flexible before you go back to course this season. Stretch daily and focus on your glutes, hamstrings, along with the muscles on your upper and lower back. Hire a personal trainer or watch video tutorials to help you come up with exercises that will increase your flexibility.
Walk more
After the series of parties and gatherings during the holiday season, you have probably gained a few pounds. Now, it’s time to shed those extra pounds. Ditch the cart and walk to the next hole. Walking while carrying your bag can help you burn more calories. Playing and walking for a few hours, you can lose the extra weight you gained in no time.
Minimize cussing on the course
Golf can be quite frustrating. Despite your efforts, you still end up with bad shots here and there. We understand that you’re upset but please try to keep your cool and keep the F-bombs to a minimum.
