The Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club Higher Education Scholarship Fundraiser
The Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club welcomes you to celebrate the tradition of the “Wild Onion Feast”. The tradition started many years ago. Harvesting wild onions after a long, cold winter, signifies the rite of Spring. Along with digging only enough Sassafras roots to boil for a special aromatic tea, and its home you go to clean the wild onions, gather eggs, and prepare a feast. This tradition has been shared with family, friends, and neighbors, to bring the community together.
The Wild Onion Feast celebrates the beginning of Spring and the gathering of our Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club members together, along with the community to raise money for our Higher Education Scholarship Program.
