How Cherokees are helping Cherokees

Osiyo ginali (Greetings friend),

When our communities are in need, we step up — because that’s what it means to be Cherokee. Gadugi, the tradition of working together for the common good, is at the heart of who we are. Through the Gadugi Corps, Cherokee citizens are mentoring students, supporting elders, responding to disasters, and strengthening our communities in ways big and small.

This month, don’t miss the opportunity to hear more about this inspiring service program. Be sure to RSVP for the premiere of “ᏣᎳᎩ: Wherever We Are, The Gaduji Corps” on Saturday, February 22 at noon CT.

As Program Director, I’ve seen firsthand how the spirit of service transforms lives — both for those giving and those receiving help. In this episode, we’ll highlight the work of Gadugi Corps volunteers and share how you can get involved in serving Cherokee communities, wherever you are.

RSVP now to be the first to receive the link for the premiere!

Our people have always taken care of one another. The Gadugi Corps is just the next step in carrying that legacy forward. I hope you’ll tune in.

Wado (Thank you),

Shawn Crittenden
Program Director of the Cherokee Nation Gadugi Corps
