🇺🇸 Veterans Day 2025: Honoring Our Heroes Across the Grand Lake Region

As the crisp November air settles over Grand Lake, communities across Northeast Oklahoma are coming together to honor those who have served our nation with courage and devotion. From heartfelt ceremonies to festive parades and community meals, Veterans Day 2025 will be marked with gratitude, unity, and pride.

Quapaw Nation Museum – Honoring Our Veterans

Location: 905 Whitebird Street, Quapaw, OK
Date: Thursday, November 6, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Hosted by the Quapaw Nation Museum, this special evening invites the public to a meaningful program of reflection and remembrance. Guests will have a rare opportunity to view the Veteran’s Quilt and information book, along with objects and photographs related to World War II Quapaw tribal members listed on the quilt and USS Quapaw memorabilia.

The event will also include:

  • A special book display presented by the Quapaw Nation Library

This hour-long event offers a beautiful blend of history, culture, and community — a must-see tribute to the bravery and service of Quapaw veterans and their families.

Veterans Day Luncheon – Miami, OK

Location: Grace Church, 130 A Street NE, Miami, OK 74354
Date: Friday, November 7, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The annual Veterans Day Luncheon will be held at Grace Church in Miami, Oklahoma, honoring area veterans with a morning of gratitude and fellowship. This year’s guest speaker is Chief Billy Friend of the Wyandotte Nation.

All veterans, family, and friends are welcome to attend. Lunch will be served, and veteran resources will be available on site.

The City of Spavinaw invites residents and visitors to gather for a special celebration dedicated to those who serve, protect, and uplift our town and country. Hosted by Mayor Amanda R. Miller, A Day of Honor, A Day of Thanks will feature a thanksgiving-style community meal, recognition of local veterans and public servants, live music, and words of gratitude.

This event embodies the heart of small-town America — where fellowship and appreciation bring neighbors together. All are welcome, and the event is free to attend.

Veterans Day Parade — Miami, OK

Time: Parade begins at 2:00 PM

The Miami Elks Lodge #1320 invites everyone to line Main Street for the annual Veterans Day Parade — a proud tradition celebrating the bravery and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.

The parade begins at 4th Ave N (Railroad Tracks) and proceeds south to 1st S & Main. This year’s Grand Marshal is General Tom Walker, leading the way for a lineup of veterans groups, schools, organizations, and community members.

Following the parade, a Veterans Dinner will be held at the Miami Elks Lodge from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM — veterans and one guest eat free. To participate in the parade, contact Bert Norton at (918) 919-2797 or John Mayes at (918) 541-0690.
