October 12 Observations from the Grand Lake Bum
October 12, 2026
If you missed the past weekend on Grand Lake, you missed what may have very well been the most perfect weekend weather of the entire year! Don’t waste the weekends hanging out in the city when Grand Lake’s very best season is here right now!
Can you believe it’s already “Fall Break” time for Oklahoma schools? They’d better hurry and get it out of the way. Thanksgiving break will be here in a couple of minutes. Youth Gun Deer Hunting Season also starts this weekend. When I was a kid, we didn’t have “Fall Break.” When a beautiful fall week came along and we wanted to go hunting, we had to pretend we were sick.
We’re just three weeks away from election day. Are you registered to vote? If not, too bad. The final deadline for registering to vote in the General Election was last Friday. If it wasn’t a priority for you to make sure you are registered to vote, I’m glad you missed the deadline. We probably don’t want people like you deciding our future, anyway.
